Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground

  • Address: 7203 Pickerel Lake Rd , Vanderbilt , MI 49795

Campground Features: Rustic, Developed Boat Access

The campground is part of Pigeon River Country State Forest, where the big elk herd of Michigan makes its home. Not likely you’ll see them at camp, but anglers may launch from a gravel ramp here and find rainbow trout, bass, and bluegill. Otherwise, head east a few miles to Pigeon River for more trout fishing. The sites with gravel pads are distributed evenly along the park roads for optimal privacy and space. The forest, a mix of pine and hardwood, pro- vides ample shade.
