Springfield Township Park

    Park Features: Sledding, Picnicking, Playground

    The 40-acre Springfield Township Recreation Area is located just north of the Manistee River in Springfield Township. The park's Eagle Ridge provides views of the river and the surrounding state land. During the summer months visitors can hike the trails, picnic, and play on the playground. There is also a summer farmer's market here. During the winter months there is an ice rink, a great hill for sledding, cross country skiing, and a heated pavilion.  

    From Kalkaska take M 66 south 13 miles south to Lund Road. Turn right (west) and go 4 miles to Creighton Road. Turn left into the Springfield Recreation Area. It is a dirt road. There is a pavilion area about 1/4 mile from the entrance.
