North Country Trail - south segment

This trail is good for Hiking

Explore the hardwood and pine forests of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. From the Marilla Trailhead (off Beers Rd) to the Upper River Rd Trailhead the trail runs along the valley ridge of the Manistee River, offering scenic views. Around the Udell Trailhead the topography gets hilly. The trail continues this way, rolling over forested hills. The trail is marked with blue rectangle-shaped blazes. Connector trails are marked with white rectangle blazes on trees.

North Country Trail Association says, "The North Country Trail is America's longest National Senic Trail stretching 4,600 miles form New York to North Dakota, linking 7 states, 10 National Forests and more than 150 public lands.
