A short trail runs from the parking area to the Maple River where 4,500 feet of shoreline are protected. The property's lowlands and riparian corridor are mostly mixed conifer, and its uplands are predominantly hardwoods. Adjacent to the property is Pellston Pioneer Park and State land.
