Powers Road Recreation Trail
The Powers Vista Trail, which is a multiple-use trail, is one of the most scenic trails in the region. The trail winds back and forth thru vast areas of County Forest land and over peaks of some of the highest points in the area. Because portions of the trail may be more difficult for some users, connection loops bright users around these areas. This trail is signed, markers will either be painted square blocks of wood attached to green metal posts or may be square shapes painted on the surface of the tree at or near eye level. The Powers Vista Trail is designated with red markers, connection loops are designated with blue markers. Any other posts, symbols, and/or lettering along or near these trails should be ignored as they may relate to forestry operations or be for other operations on the lands.
Typically where a trail on this system intersects with another forest road, trail markers on posts are place on the inside of the trail to guide users through the intersection. Where the two trails intersect; the approaches will be marked with posts showing the color of the trail the rider is on at the top with the color of the intersection trail right below. Look through the intersection at the other post(s) colors they can navigate to the desired trail.
This trail system is open to multiple user groups, from hikers to bikers to 4-wheel or four legged modes of transportation. It is free to use and is maintained by Forestry and Parks staff and volunteers as time permits.
Note: Not all sections of each trail are approved for every activity listed for the trail as a whole. Please click on individual trail sections to see approved activities for that section.
